PSI Ltd Close Protection Training Courses

The PSI course to train the Close Protection Officer (CPO) is designed to give potential CPOs the very best knowledge and skills required to become a first class operator. PSI is committed to provide the highest level of training so that both clients and students get what they want. The CPO course content is scrutinised by our external assessor to apply for a Close Protection Officers licence. Security Industry Authority The PSI Close Protection Officers course leads to the relevant qualifications, as required by the Security Industry Authority for application for a Close Protection Officers licence. Course Outline Duration: The course is 15 days in duration, encompassing the 150 hours knowledge and practical skills training that are necessary to apply for an SIA license. Course Syllabus: Introduction to the roles and responsibilities of the Close Protection Operative Threat and risk assessment Surveillance awareness Operational planning Law and legislation Interpersonal skills Physical Intervention and legal use of force Close protection team work Reconnaissance Close protection foot techniques Route selection Use of close protection vehicle techniques Search awareness Incidents and dilemmas Venue based security Communication and conflict management skills Also available at the discretion of our instructors we can include - unarmed combat, cuffing techniques, disarming techniques/knife/pistol, kubotan training, baton training. This will depend on student competence, capability and suitability. Course Cost: £2400 – The cost of the course includes course examination and certification from outside awarding body (EDEXCEL) and single occupancy Bed and Breakfast in a local Hotel. Basic Job Training Static Security Guarding Course (4 days)

PSI offer a basic 4 day BJT (Basic Job Training) Course which qualifies candidates to apply to the SIA for licensing. Qualification BTEC Certificate (EDEXCEL). Content: Unit 1: Roles and Responsibilities of Door Supervisors Customer care Diversity Patrolling Access control Searching Security and emergency procedures Health and safety Unit 2: Conflict Management Training Cost of course: £250 per person. Door Supervisor Course (4 days)

PSI offer a 4 day training course that allows successful students to apply for an SIA license. Qualification BTEC Certificate (EDEXCEL) Unit 1: Roles and Responsibilities of Door Supervisors Introduction to the role of the door supervisor Code of conduct Legal constraints Drugs Crime prevention Equal opportunities Health & Safety Emergency procedures including First Aid Unit 2: Conflict Management for Door Supervisors (2 Days) Introduction to communication and conflict management Self-awareness Avoiding conflict Effective communication and customer services skills Recognising and defusing conflict Maintaining space Defusing high risk conflict Resolving conflict Learning from conflict Unit 1 and 2 can be taught separately if necessary. Vehicle Immobilisation Course (4 days)

PSI offer a 4 day training course that allows successful students to apply for an SIA license. Surveillance: Urban, and Rural

This is a 7-day course designed to provide students with basic knowledge of urban rural and foreign surveillance techniques, both counter and technical. Potential applicants should note that some reading and revision would be required in the evenings. Top of Page
